At present, AEGCL has 1373 km. of OPGW (optical ground wire) network out of which AEGCL undertook a project for replacing 614 km. of the existing Ground Wire of different transmission lines with OPGW under Assam Power Sector Enhancement Improvement Project (APSEIP). Under Microwave replacement project, 759 km. of Ground wire has been replaced with OPGW. This OPGW network has covered many places in upper, Central and Lower Assam.
